Physical description: Adra is an average looking girl (aside, perhaps, from all of her eyeliner that she loves), with long black hair and grey-blue eyes. She's got a bit of weight to her and usually prefers comfortable tank tops and jeans to 'fashionable' tight clothes. She's of average height for a girl her age, about 5'6".

Personality: (Word of advice--stick to basics, as your character will sometimes surprise you and grow WITH you as you RP them :D ) Adra isn't at all a trusting, warm girl--she's often suspicious of most everybody, and it's a lot of work to get through this aspect of her personality. However, of the few that do, Adra is fiercely loyal. Her morals are a bit more creative, with nothing being black and white--she stands very neutral on the topic of blood purity, wary of muggleborns because of their unfamiliarity with magic, but afraid of purebloods because of the demanding, dangerous elitism that lives in that society. Adra makes a habit of never lying. She stretches the truth or tells half-truths, but never tells a completely false stories.She finds this most useful in case she's caught, and can justify her actions with greater ease than if she had lied. Adra loves to put extra effort into classes that interest her, but simply floats through classes she couldn't care less about. Her History of Magic grades are excellent, whereas her Potions and Transfigurations grades are laughable. Adra is a Slytherin through and through, thinking outside of conventional (and sometimes socially moral) means to get what she wants. She especially adores singing and flying. She's also a major slash fan. I'm just sayin'

Family background: (This is the one thing I want very detailed, as it shall help with the plot developments and future ideas) Adra's father comes from a long line of Greek historians. Her great-grandfather, tired of Greek research, came to northern Europe to persue the culture of the wizarding world in the days of the Celts and Goths. Her father was a Ravenclaw, and is now a very skilled curse breaker for Gringotts, often called in for the more meticulous, dangerous curses around various ruins in northern Europe (his extensive studies in the subject of History of Magic and hand written research records passed down through many generations of the Castalia family makes this possible). Nicholas Castalia raised his daughter on stories of the ancient world, often taking the place of common fairy tales. The men of the Castalia family are known to be most enthusiastic about research and knowledge above all else. Out of her parents, her father is the most serene and patient.

Adra's mother, Katchen Lindrikka-Castalia, comes from a long line of German artisan witches and wizards. Katchen was the first to attend Hogwarts, with the rest of her family attending Durmstrang. Katchen's mother escaped from Germany with her infant daughter after the start of World War II. She and Katchen were the only ones of the Lindrikka family to escape, leaving Katchen's brother and father behind. Katchen was sorted into Slytherin and spent time going between her elitist housemates to her elitist mother in the midst of a frightening time during the years after the war. Katchen grew up very quickly in this setting, learning to rely on herself and only herself. She rebelled against her mother and the whole of the pureblood expectations, earning punishment and dangerous enemies in the process.

Katchen found Nicholas most amusing when she met him, seeing an enthusiasm about everything he didn't understand and incorporated his expertise in logic and expansive knowledge. Nicholas was impressed by Katchen's unwaivering confidence and magical skill. Together, the two soared through their classes and built a secure place in a terrifying world. They married ten years after graduating from Hogwarts.

Adra's mother is an excellent writer, and a strong, steadfast figure--one of the only people Adra trusts completely when she's in her greatest time of need. Unfortunately, Katchen's fear of the pureblood society has had a strong effect on her daughter. Like her daughter, Katchen has a very short temper, and is prone to arguing loudly with Adra when the two don't see eye to eye, without ever really getting sincerely angry.
